Air Quality
The University of Central Florida is permitted as a synthetic non-Title V source of criteria pollutants from the combustion of natural gas and diesel fuel. The UCF air operation permit establishes specific requirements for emissions units as well as criteria for exempt equipment. Examples of emissions sources include electric power generators, boilers, water heaters, printing operations, and experimental projects.
Prior to constructing, demolishing, operating or modifying any emission source, UCF Departments and Contractors shall contact EHS to discuss permit requirements. Departments may be required to obtain an air construction permit prior to purchasing the equipment. EHS will work with the UCF Department and Contractors to prepare the air construction permits for submission to OCEPD.
