Controlled Substances

Research at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is supported with the use of Controlled Substances and Prescription Drugs that are regulated by U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), due to the potential abuse associated with these substances. UCF requires that all individuals working with DEA Controlled Substances (CS) have current DEA Registrations.

The UCF Possession of Prescription Drugs and Controlled Substances Procedure ensures that UCF is in compliance with the State and Federal regulations with the use and handling of CS. It will also provide instructions for the record-keeping, security, storage, and disposal of CS and prescription drugs.
